1. No Collection of Personal Data by Us
WAQM pro operates strictly as a client-side utility tool.
- We do not operate any server or cloud repository, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal identifiable information (PII) to ourselves.
- Any chat logs, phone numbers, contact lists, messages, customer notes, personal memos, or media files that you process through the extension are stored entirely on your local machine.
- We have no external servers that capture your private data.
2. Local Data Storage
The following data is saved locally within your browser to provide the extension's features:
- Quick message templates, folders, and labels
- Customer information (CRM), personal memos, and attached images
- World clock, favorite sites, theme, and other configuration preferences
- Translation settings, custom prompts, and API keys you enter for translation engines
- An optional screen-lock PIN, if you choose to enable the lock feature
This data never leaves your device except through the optional features described in Section 3 and Section 4. You can delete all local data at any time by removing the extension from your browser or by clearing its storage in your browser settings.
3. Third-Party Translation & AI Services
WAQM pro provides optional translation and AI features. When you actively use these features, the relevant text or image is sent directly from your browser to the third-party service you have selected, in order to return a result:
- Translation Engines: MyMemory, DeepL, Microsoft Translator, OpenAI (GPT), and Google (Gemini). The text you translate is transmitted to the engine you choose.
- AI Auto-Fill / Image Translation: When used, the relevant chat text or image is sent to the AI engine (Gemini or GPT) you have configured.
These requests are sent directly from your browser to the respective provider using the API key you supply. We do not intercept, store, or receive this data. Your use of these services is subject to the privacy policies of each provider (Google, OpenAI, DeepL, Microsoft, and MyMemory), and we recommend reviewing them.
If you do not use the translation or AI features, no data is sent to any third party.
4. Optional Google Drive Backup
WAQM pro offers an optional backup feature. If you choose to back up your data to Google Drive, your settings and saved data are uploaded to your own Google Drive account through Google's official authentication.
- This is entirely optional and only occurs when you explicitly initiate a backup or enable auto-backup.
- The data is stored in your personal Google Drive, not on any server owned by us.
- You may alternatively back up to a local JSON file, which stays on your device.
5. WhatsApp Web
Because this extension builds on top of WhatsApp Web, your usage is inherently subject to the official privacy policy of WhatsApp Inc. We recommend reviewing their policy regarding end-to-end encryption and metadata handling.
6. Permissions
- Storage Permission: Used solely to save your preferences, templates, and other data locally within your browser.
- Host Permissions (web.whatsapp.com): Necessary to inject utility scripts into WhatsApp Web to enable layout enhancements, quick message macros, and UI features.
- Identity Permission (optional): Used only for Google Drive authentication when you choose to use the backup feature.
